Periodic CPC Training
Holding a certificate of Professional Competence is an essential qualification required by law for anyone wishing to operate vehicles. Obtaining this qualification demonstrates the professional competence of the owner operator or transport manager responsible for the control of goods vehicles or of anyone applying for an Operator’s Licence.
Periodic Training is continuing professional development for bus, coach and lorry drivers. It carries on throughout the professional driver’s career, no matter how infrequently they drive.
Driver CPC Periodic Training
Periodic Training is continuing professional development for bus, coach and lorry drivers. It carries on throughout the professional driver’s career, no matter how infrequently they drive.
Driver CPC requires drivers to complete a minimum of 35 hours of periodic training every five years for as long as they wish to continue to drive professionally.
The training will require attendance at courses but will not require drivers to take or pass further examinations.
The training is delivered in 5 modules of 7 hours each
List of Registered approved Driver CPC Module Contents:
- Driver Regulations (HGV and PCV Module) (CRS9671/1846)
Digital Tachographs, Analogue Tachographs, Drivers Hours, Keeping of Records, Working Time Regulations, Driving Licenses – restrictions, categories and codes.
- Driver and Vehicle Safety (Specialised HGV Module) (CRS9670/1846)
Hijacking and theft, Health & Safety, Manual Handling, Drivers Daily Checks, Speed Limits and Driver Fatigue
- Load Safety Procedures (Specialised HGV Module) (CRS9672/1846)
Forces at work, Safe Driving Techniques, Safe Loading, Weights & Dimensions, Highway Code.
- Vehicle Procedures (HGV and PCV Module) (CRS9676/1846)
Tunnel Procedures, ‘Safe & Fuel efficient Driving’ awareness, Motorway Driving, Traffic Accident Procedures.
- Public Safety (HGV and PCV Module) (CRS9675/1846)
